Saturday's Premier League Accumulator Tips

Fixtures for: Saturday 10th May

Fulham v Everton

15:00

Over 0.5 Everton Goals

Everton travel to a Fulham side that have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven games across all competitions, only managing to win two of these games. Fulham’s backline has been suspect all season. Marco Silva’s side have only kept five clean sheets in the Premier League this term - only the three relegated sides have kept fewer.

Everton are far from the most prolific side in the Premier League, but Fulham’s nervy backline should give them a chance. Their form hasn’t been the best of late, but it’s worth considering that the average position of the teams they’ve faced in their last six Premier League matches is 5.83, including the Merseyside Derby and clashes against Champions League chasing Manchester City and Chelsea.

They’ve managed to find the back of the net in three of these recent fixtures and can make the most of an inconsistent Fulham backline. Everton scored in the initial meeting between these sides back in October, it took them until the 94th minute to get their equaliser, but they managed five shots on target in the game, a total above their average for the season and reflective of the chances Fulham give you.

Ipswich v Brentford

15:00

Over 2.5 Goals

An entertaining affair at Portman Road should be in store as Thomas Frank’s Brentford side make the trip to an already relegated Ipswich side. Ipswich have seen over 2.5 goals in each of their last five Premier League matches; they’ve failed to win any of these games, which is reflective of their season as a whole, but their games are still producing goals.

Brentford were one of the most entertaining sides in the Premier League at the start of the season, that has waned slightly as the season has unfolded but they will have chances through the dangerous front three of Mbuemo, Schade and Wissa who have all hit 10+ goals for the season in the Premier League which is a record that is unmatched by any other side in the top flight.

Brentford saw seven goals in their 4-3 win over Manchester United last time out and also recently saw six goals as they came out 4-2 winners over Brighton. The initial league meeting between these sides produced seven goals as Brentford ran out 4-3 winners with a cumulative xG of 5.4 produced in the game, one of the highest combined xG’s we’ve seen in the Premier League match this season.

Southampton v Man City

15:00

Man City (-1) Handicap

Manchester City have found some consistency at an important stage of the season and now look nailed on to finish in the top five and qualify for the Champions League next season. They face a Southampton side that have not won a game since the 1st February when they beat Ipswich at Portman Road.

Southampton have lost 10 of the 12 games that followed that win, only picking up points in the form of draws against West Ham and Crystal Palace. In this run, they’ve lost by two or more goals in seven of them, even against the likes of Leicester, who beat Southampton 2-0 last time out.

Manchester City ran out 1-0 winners in the initial meeting between the sides, but this was quite a flattering scoreline for the Saints. Manchester City had 22 shots in the game, eight of which found the target to produce an xG of 2.95. Manchester City are unbeaten across their last nine games in all competitions, which suggests that Pep Guardiola is building towards the same sort of consistency which made Manchester City such a dominant force in English football.

Wolves v Brighton

15:00

Both Teams to Score

This should be a really competitive game. Wolves tasted defeat for the first time in eight games with their 1-0 loss to Manchester City last time out. They were still competitive in the game but missed that clinical edge which would have earned them a point or more at the Etihad. It was also the first time in 13 games in which Wolves have failed to score.

Brighton have seen BTTS in each of their last five games in the Premier League, only managing to win one of these games. Fabian Hurzeler’s attacking style is admirable, but it often gives the opposition opportunities to get at the Brighton backline, as we can see from their recent tendency to see goals at both ends of the pitch.

The initial meeting between these sides ended in a 2-2 draw, which mirrors the level of entertainment we should expect here. Both sides registered xG’s in excess of 1.0 (1.31-1.36), which suggests that we should get chances at both ends. Both sides ended up having at least 6+ shots on target in the fixture, which further reinforces the argument that attacking football should come out on top here.
