Saturday's Premier League Player Fouls Tips

Fixtures for: Saturday 10th May

Fulham v Everton

15:00

Calvin Bassey to Commit 1+ Fouls

Bassey has committed a foul in each of his last five Premier League appearances, picking up two yellow cards in this period. Bassey has committed 26 fouls across his 33 appearances in the Premier League this season (0.81 per 90).

His role has developed under Marco Silva, Fulham are really strong down the left hand side of the pitch with Robinson and Iwobi, supported by Bassey who frequently joins the attack, especially if Fulham play with a back three.

Bassey is likely to contest multiple duels with Beto who can be quite a handful. Beto has won 18 fouls across his 27 Premier League appearances this season, 12 of these have been starts taking his average to 1.28 fouls won per 90.

Fulham v Everton

15:00

Jarrad Branthwaite to be Fouled 1+ Times

With James Tarkowski sidelined, Jarrad Branthwaite has had to play a more active role in the Everton backline and this has impacted his foul won record over recent fixtures.

Branthwaite has won 17 fouls across his 28 Premier League appearances this season (0.65 per 90) which is a pretty solid record for a centre back, but this record becomes even more standout when looking at his recent games. He’ll be up against Raul Jimenez who is averaging 1.49 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season.

Branthwaite has been hauled down at least once in each of his last five Premier League appearances, which would suggest that he is engaging more with the opposition centre forward than he did when Tarkowski was partnering him.

Ipswich v Brentford

15:00

Keane Lewis-Potter to be Fouled 1+ Times

Thomas Frank has expertly adapted Lewis-Potter into a makeshift left back to great success. Lewis-Potter dropping back into a more defensive position hasn’t taken away from his attacking qualities, including winning fouls.

Lewis-Potter has won 29 fouls across his 35 Premier League appearances this season (0.92 per 90). This record has become more standout of late, he’s won a foul in each of his last five Premier League appearances.

Ipswich committed 10 fouls and were shown a red card on their visit to the Gtech Community Stadium earlier in the season. Lewis-Potter played as a more traditional winger on that occasion and was hauled down twice, as well as completing more dribbles than any other player on the pitch (3).

Southampton v Man City

15:00

Taylor Harwood-Bellis to Commit 1+ Fouls

Harwood-Bellis has shown rare moments of quality for Southampton this season but has been held back by the rest of his side with the Saints long confirmed to spend at least a season in the Championship. Frustration has crept its way into his game, especially since Southampton were confirmed as relegated from the Premier League.

He’s committed a foul in each of his last five Premier League games, highlighting this frustration. Across the season as a whole, he’s committed 34 fouls in his 32 Premier League appearances, 30 of these have been starts taking his average to 1.15 fouls committed per 90.

He’s been playing on the right side of a back three for Southampton in recent weeks which will pit him up against Jeremy Doku (2.00 fouls won per 90). Omar Marmoush also likes to drift over to that side of the pitch, he’s averaging 1.52 fouls won per 90 across his 13 Premier League appearances since joining Manchester City in January.

Wolves v Brighton

15:00

Marshall Munetsi to Commit 1+ Fouls

Wolves have become a really aggressive side under Vitor Pereira. They’re averaging 13.1 fouls committed per game in the Premier League this season, which is a record only bettered by Bournemouth (13.5).

Munetsi’s addition in January has been one of the important recruitments in dragging Wolves away from the relegation zone. He was initially signed as a defensive midfielder, but Vitor Pereira has been playing him in an attacking role, usually alongside Cunha and just behind the striker.

He’s committed 15 fouls across his 11 appearances in the Premier League this season (1.54 per 90), which suggests that he hasn’t lost the combative element in his play despite moving further up the pitch. Munetsi has committed a foul in each of his last five Premier League games.
